The University of Delaware Jazz Band is set to enchant audiences with an electrifying performance at the Milton Theatre on April 14, Sunday, at 7:00 PM.
Renowned for their energetic performances, soaring solos, and tight harmonies, the University of Delaware Jazz Band promises to deliver an unforgettable experience, showcasing exceptional talent and infectious passion. The University of Delaware Jazz Band provides all students with the opportunity to audition for its performing jazz ensembles. Led by accomplished musicians, Jazz Ensemble I and Jazz Ensemble II embody the spirit of big band jazz, featuring standard instrumentation with saxophone, trombone, trumpet, and rhythm sections, as well as solo vocalists.
Both ensembles regularly grace the campus with their performances, exploring a diverse range of musical styles from past and present. Noteworthy collaborations with renowned guest artists further enhance the band’s musical journey. Past guests include luminaries such as Arturo Sandoval, Harry Connick, Jr., Denis DiBlasio, Phil Woods, and many more.
In addition to their campus engagements, Jazz Ensemble I frequently takes their talents off-campus to schools, jazz festivals, and concert venues, enriching communities with their artistry and passion for jazz.
